@murmurrer
Yeah, even the average netbook has up to 5hrs of battery life, and with those you can carry spares as well.
Hopefully the HP Slate can get more than 5hrs.
at 10:50 am
Omg, that doesn’t sound good.
I heard Ipad runs for 10 hours or so.
at 10:50 am
I heard 3 hours.
I think i’ll wait for the HP Slate.

i like this more than ipad, coz of its usb port, multitasking, cable connection, the hdmtv connection (correct me if im wrong) and the cam!! (unlike ipad
) it is really a “computer experience”
does it have a stylus or something?, you know why i ask
and it really needs a faster processor
at 10:50 am
How long does it run on 1 charge approx.?
at 10:50 am
most boring video ever
at 10:50 am
is this pressure sensitive and multi touch?

It’s better than having a GPU that can only handle it’s native resolution. What if I want to run something that is graphics intense? It won’t have a problem. If it only had a GPU that could handle it’s native resolution then it is likely to have a problem. There are even programs now that can utilize the power of GPU’s.

ah right, so the Archos’ LCD screen itself isn’t full HD, but the graphics card can decode a HD film. Clever clever marketing.
I spotted 1 problem too, if it has only 1 USB port there on the side, i guess if you want to hook up a flash drive, sync your phone/mp3 player or transfer data to a removable hard drive, you have to remove the 3G broadband dongle to do those. bummer.
still for that sacrifice it looks like a pretty cool machine. but with time will come better models = more performance etc

The resolution is 1024 x 600, I just looked it up. 1080p is 1920×1080 HOWEVER, this is not the point, what they are getting at is that their graphics processor is SO GOOD that it can decode 1920×1080 video. It will still look amazing not the screen but will not be 1080p. If you were to plug this into your 1080p tv some how you could play it at full resolution. (resolution is pixels a 1080p monitor has the same amount of pixels as a 1080p tv, roughly 2million)
at 10:50 am
1 example would be my nokia 5800, which has a 320×640 res screen. 640p on a 3.2 inch screen is considered quite high definition, as the pixels are so close together making a clearer picture than say, the ipod touch, whick has a 480×320 display = 320p. the same pictures/videos i view on my 5800 are much clearer and sharper than on my ipod because of the pixel density
but i’m sure 90% of people know that -.-
at 10:50 am
in terms of large tv screens, 480p is the resolution that regular analog tv broadcasts in. resolutions from 720i to 1080p are considered ‘HighDefinition’ on screens bigger than, say, 25″.
However, having 480 vertical pixels is counted as HD if you have a 3″ screen, as the pixel count is quite high for such a small size screen. That’s how marketers get around it.
But this Tablet is full 1080p, and i guess such a large resolution on a small screen means it’s damn awesome XD

maybe as far as features, but the form factor isnt quite as nice, and there isnt a fanboy following of archos even close to as much as apple. Plus is this still missing a camera? The capacitive will be a pretty big drawback, but this is a huge step in the right direction. Its going to be tough competing with the ipad especially once the revised version comes out. I do like archos though, and in another revision or two this will be a tempting purchase for me.

worst presentation ever!!!
at 10:50 am
IPad’s design is MUCH better that Archo’s. On the other hand, as far as programs are concerned, IPad has limits by Apple itself, while Archos lets you use almost every program you’d use on your desktop.
at 10:50 am
This blows the i pad away! nobody is even arguing with it! the i pad can’t do anything near what this can!

sorry
at 10:50 am
ipod. killer? or ipad killer?
at 10:50 am
wow nice .. welocome ipod killer
at 10:50 am
One thing that sucks is the battery life is only 3 hours
at 10:50 am
please give the welcome to the ipad killer
at 10:50 am
this is 5x better than the ipad. the ipad doesnt have crap besides a music store and web that doesnt even support flash.
at 10:50 am
Archos official videos are very stranges as at any time you can see someone using its finger to manipulate the GUI.
My conclusion is that is too bad to be shown and that Windows 7 is far from the usability of iphone OS. Just an idea though.

gorgeous device!
