How to Change a Drive Icon in Vista and Windows 7

www.7meetsnick.com – This will show you how to change any drive icon that uses a drive letter to whatever icon you want in a user account. These will be the ones that show up in Computer with a drive letter. This is not to fix a missing or changed drive icon that just happened out of the blue, but to replace it with one you want instead of the default one. The icons you decide to use must be a 256×256 bit .ico (icon) file, not.png, to be used in Vista without viewing problems. A png file must be converted to a 256×256 ico file before it can be used. To convert a PNG to ICO you must use a program such as this with a free 30 day trial program called Axialis iconworkshop: Axialis iconworkshop Download Page (Link below) axialis.com

Thank you so Much Nick! All the others never worked for me so thanks so much!

  8. 7MeetsNick Says:

@Doosam94 That error means you installed something for 32 bit when you have 64bit windows vista. In order for that error to go away and be solved you need to insert your Vista disc and start the repair process.

for ae tutorials go to videocopilot . net. that guy knows almost everything about that program. you rock btw!
and for all you people if you want a great free icon saver for windows and mac check out a program called icofx. you can make any design in your prefered program, photoshop, ilustrator, etc, and then import that image to icofx. be sure that the file is a png if you want transparency.

nice vid, and look man, im sorry about the clan shit. I just felt we were going nowhere. good luck to ya

@7MeetsNick Well, the obvious Videocopilot and adobe’s tut site are the usual ones I hit up for tips. I usually play around with crap I learn from there. Never ever use a tutorial’s demo output (the thing your making) as a final. Take it an make it better, if not, it’s basically plagiarism (just saving you from future flames). VC also has some great 3ds max tuts (not many).

  15. 7MeetsNick Says:

@juggernaut94 got any sites I can go on for tutorials?

  16. juggernaut94 Says:

@7MeetsNick I wasn’t spazzing, I was just laughing at the generic particles w/ 3d trans. That’s still pretty good for a first render. Also, I can’t wait.

  17. drunkenbozo1994 Says:

@7MeetsNick oh well then that seems justified!
