MSI WindPad 100 10-inch Windows 7 + Atom tablet hands-on

www.tweaktown.com COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2010 — MSI just got done with hosting its pre-Computex press conference and launched and showcased a host of new products. We just posted our hands-on look at the MSI WindPad 110 that is based around the Google Android operating system with ARM processing technology, but the difference with the WindPad 100 s that is build around already well known technology that netbooks use — the Intel Atom to be exact. It ships with Windows 7 Home Premium with a special MSI GUI. Distributed by Tubemogul.

@bigdima3 not when the infrastructure for the Microsoft Surface is in place. The ipad will be the rotary phone compared to a satellite phone.

@bigdima3 For a better browsing experience. Tablets are mostly going to be used for browsing, and if the iPad had OS X on it, you could choose any browser you want with all your extensions, settings, and themes. There’d also be Flash.

The Ipad might be less laggy, but apart from Apple’s crap nearly nothing can be used on it = useless expensive casual user toy.

The curtain has been raised (slightly) on the next installment of Microsoft’s Windows operating system – Windows 7.

Microsoft hope it will bring the internet, mobile phone and PC closer together. But reviews have so far been mixed, although reviewers have been limited to trying the (pre-beta version).

The full version is expected to be capable of working with a touchscreen screen, navigating documents and the Web similar to Apple’s iPhone. It is officially released at the end of 2009.

“I have seen the future, and it is bleak. Windows 7, the next big version, the one that was supposed to fix everything that was wrong with Vista, is here (at least in pre-beta form), and I can now say – with some confidence – that Microsoft has once again dropped the ball.
