www.netbooknews.com I never thought that I would consider a Windows Tablet in my life, but the ExoPC has made me rethink my hardline position on Windows Tablets. It isn’t the hardware or even the build of the tablet that makes us take note its the capacitive touch screen and custom UI. It doesn’t hurt that the device will run multiple applications including 720p HD playback. ExoPC tablet to ship with Broadcom Crystal HD video accelerator which makes sense. I am even willing to over look the tragic battery life of roughly 5 hours, it was interesting to find out why ExoPC went with the N450 over Menlow which was because the N450 supports higher screen resolutions. We would like to see the battery life improve, so since this is a key feature for me, the price point of 9 seems a bit steep, I’d pay 0-0, maybe 0 for this tablet, but 6 is just far too high for such battery life. But hey it is all about what you are happy with and if you are looking for a device that will port windows applications, then this is you tablet!

This is a project I have been working on in my spare time for the last few months. I wanted a Windows 7 touchscreen tablet with a large screen that could handle HD video and wasn’t too thick or power hungry. The build cost for this was around 0-700. I had to sit at a weird angle for filming so I had a couple issues with the touchscreen, but it was only becuase of my odd positioning. The Asus T91MT is probably the first convertable multi touch netbook, with a stylus that actually works well. I’ve held off the review of this product about a week in anticipation of the Apple ipad, and I can now safely say that this device is superior to it, in almost every aspect. 32gb SSD pcie card, 1GB ram, touch screen, stylus interaction, SD card slots, usb ports, microphone, headset, and built in web cam all standard. All for just around 0 (now 0).

Gizmo Ep05 – Get the first look at photos from the unveiling of Microsoft and hp’s Windows 7 Slate. It is a tablet that is powered by the multi-touch features of Windows 7 and features a few interesting modes like: movie mode, reading mode, and pc mode. The interesting part is seemingly a tie-up with Amazon (be it with Microsoft, HP or both were not sure.) Ballmer demoed the Amazon PC reader on the HP Slate, and the reader will ship as standard with the Slate. Release date: later this year, and the price: about the same as a mobile phone. Our guess, pre-Christmas and around the 0-0 mark.
