Saving time and money is the bottom line for companies just like THASP around the world. Windows 7 Professional is helping them accomplish just that.

The curtain has been raised (slightly) on the next installment of Microsoft’s Windows operating system – Windows 7.
Microsoft hope it will bring the internet, mobile phone and PC closer together. But reviews have so far been mixed, although reviewers have been limited to trying the (pre-beta version).
The full version is expected to be capable of working with a touchscreen screen, navigating documents and the Web similar to Apple’s iPhone. It is officially released at the end of 2009.
“I have seen the future, and it is bleak. Windows 7, the next big version, the one that was supposed to fix everything that was wrong with Vista, is here (at least in pre-beta form), and I can now say – with some confidence – that Microsoft has once again dropped the ball.
“Overall, I’m extremely disappointed with Windows 7. Far from atoning for Vista’s sins, Windows 7 simply carries them forward, visiting them upon yet another generation. Windows 7 is no panacea. Rather, it’s just more of the same: slow, bloated, and frustrating as hell.”
“When it comes to Windows 7, Microsoft hasn’t just learned from the mistakes of Windows Vista. It has picked up a thing or two from Apple’s OS X, judging by first impressions.
“It’s not clear how big the changes are so far. If you put the beta-build of Windows 7 side-by-side with Windows Vista, you’d be hard-pressed to spot the differences. Yes, some of the icons look slightly different and there’s no sidebar, but it’s essentially still the Vista look and feel. But that changes when you start to use Windows 7.
“For a start the OS won’t nag you as much; many notifications are banished to a control panel, you get to approve icons before they show up in the system tray and Microsoft has reined in Vista’s useful but annoying UAC prompts; you can choose which ones you want to see or turn them off altogether.”
“Initially Windows 7 looks similar to Vista, but there a lot of new features that have been added. Under the skin, Microsoft has been working hard. Boot times have been reduced, and certainly the review laptop Microsoft provided has a fairly snappy boot time.
“Microsoft has been working with OEMs to improve battery life – simple things such as reducing the timer frequency can improve battery life by up to 10 per cent. The networking stack has had new diagnostics added to help users figure out exactly where the problem lies.
“So, is this all a big deal? It’s not a change to the fundamental core of Windows, and most of the improvements sound relatively small. But taken together, they seem to address many of the issues people have had for Windows. I’m looking forward to trying it out, starting this afternoon.”

The new taskbar is not difficult to understand if you want it the old way just right click the taskbar> Properties> never combine taskbar buttons. Windows 7 paging is better than Xp and prefetch has been improved from Vista to 7. The taskbar is also more responsive, Vista sometimes will hang a tad bit in the start menu. in Addition to that you get Xp mode in Xp pro and they also improved the way Windows accesses the registry.

windows 7 IZ DA BEST!!! BETTTER THAN YOUR IDIOTIC MACS!!!!!!!! WINDOWS 7 KILLS ALL!!!

@mda40000
Explorer was in-fact re-written. Not from the ground up, but much code was changed for various enhancements.
Battery life, 7 gets more. Vista tweaked will still get less than 7. For example, my acer timeline gets 8 hours of battery life with windows 7 + aero. Vista on this machine only gets 8 hrs with aero turned off.
>no corrupted system time
…what?
XP mode for legacy applications. It is very important believe it or not.
at 3:39 am
@JamesManes re-written explorer? XD still the same speed as vista’s as far as i see. battery life? fucking people dont know how to set their power options anyways! XD tweaked to be the same as Vista LOL network transfers are the same if not better at some points when using vista over Windows 7. and kernal problems? i have no corrupted system time and abnormal crash unless im running my rig stable. and XP mode. WHY? XD we are using 2 better OS’s

@mda40000
Re-written explorer

A few kernel problems that were in vista were fixed.
XP Mode
Many more.

Wow look at you swearing using all caps as if you were yelling at me over “the internet.” Stop being a kid.
.1 does make a difference. You have no idea how much microsoft work has put into this. There is no universal standard that says “.1 is not that much work.” .1 is actually a ton of work.
Actuall those things you listed DO count. But others include:
Better permission system setup with SUA
Better security
Resource allocation use was improved
(continued in next com)

@TecWizKid
XP is old, dying, bad at ram management, full of security holes, cannot vsync and lacks a proper up-to-date permission system.
7 Costs about 200 dollars for home premium. It is worth it.

Please, go read up on microsofts business model before spouting out obnoxious fallacies.
Vistas NT build is 6, 7’s NT build is 6.1
There was a lot of work done.
at 3:39 am
Do you mean Tile them on your background?
at 3:39 am
I actually like the XP logo, and I think windows 7 should promote that logo. I hope windows 8 uses that logo too.
at 3:39 am
BSODs can only be caused from third party drivers or from hardware errors, neither of which do Windows 7 control.
at 3:39 am
Try going to windows update and look under the optional tab, from there update your drivers, it may be caused from your video card drivers.
at 3:39 am
@JamesManes lol and if you even TRIED both of them side by side (like i did with my dads Windows 7 pc under my desk and my gaming pc on top of my desk), you’d notice there’s no difference with boot up speed and window pop up speed. W7’s taskbar is crap compared to the classic and simple taskbar that Windows always had.
at 3:39 am
SLOW AND SLOWER THEN XP!!!
NOTICEST MOST ON PS’S UNDER 3GH OF PROSESSER SPEED
Buy XP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
7 COSTS 3 ARMS 7 LEGS AND A HEAD
at 3:39 am
@eljess13 2nd’s worlds best. Promise. Snow Leopard is the 2nd – and a half. 1st world’s best is Nokia N97 Mini.xD
at 3:39 am
Ugh….I meant THERE IS AN XP LOGO AT 1:16, NOT THAT XP IS BETTER THAN 7. -__-
at 3:39 am
You sound like those fools that said windows 2k was better than xp when xp came out. Fact is Microsoft’s entire business model is like this. Notice the kernel versions of NT.
2k was NT 5, XP was NT5.1 (thus XP was an extended build of 2k with more features and security)
Vista was NT6, 7 is NT 6.1 (see above)
at 3:39 am
XP is full of security flaws and has an old un-vysyncable GUI. Gtfo plz.
at 3:39 am
New taskbar, improved memory paging, improved scheduler is Vista sp2? 7 is totally worth it. Don’t forget pro comes with xp mode which allows you to run Windows Xp in a virtual machine.
at 3:39 am
of course master! xp is best
at 3:39 am
LOL Windows XP logo 1:16
at 3:39 am
windows 7 ultimate is what im running. I don’t even use an Anti-virus program.
Its amazingly fast! sexy and works perfect.
at 3:39 am
No vista is because Windows 7 is Vista SP2 and the platform update for it in disguise. IMA TROLL EVERY ONE OF THESE WINDOWS 7 VIDEOS UNTIL PEOPLE START USING THEIR NOGGINS AND ACTUALLY TRY GOING BACK AND USE VISTA SP2. M$ got your money now dont they?
at 3:39 am
I love windows 7, but think I have one bug or I somehow got a setting stuck cause on my computer I cannot seem to tile pictures. The only stretch to full screen and some times that really wacks out a picture. Anyone know if this is a bug of if I clicked a setting and how to fix it if possible??
at 3:39 am
My uncle had a BSOD on Windows 7 Pro, he was just doing a report and boom… It saved him time… He works less now… so yay…
