I did something completely different but it worked: The recent update turned my 7600 build into an “evaluation copy” – it was genuine before then. After trying several things, I did a system restore to before the update was installed, then went to check if it worked – no more evaluation crap, but my key was invalid and it said I had 30 days to activate – I got a retail key and it worked. The march update doesn’t even show up for me in windows update anymore.

Also, I tried the stuff in Jamie’s guides before doing this. The update is definitely the culprit and replacing those files and uninstalling it did not fix it for me. I do believe they will work fine for activating a fresh install that has not received this update, though.

once you have replaced the files then re-activate or you may have to reinstall the OS .. then activate then watch my other video to keep it activated .

jamie, i did that. but i still get notifications saying that i don’t have genuine software. and for the softwareprotection, do i keep it disabled or reactivate it after replacing pkconfig and token.dat?

to uninstall updats, go to uninstall programs in the control panel. click show installed updates and the choose the ones yo want to install.

Bro I tried every fucking thing possible and its still not working,I overwrited the files just like you said,first it ddnt let me cuz of ownership,than I restarted my computer in safe mode and did the overwrite,than I tried to put at least 10 keys and none of them worked,I also downloaded windows 7 activator and it ddnt work,I also deleted the update and did a system restore but it still ddnt work,I dont know what else to fukin do omfg

I keep windows update off and hand pick what i want to download. I don’t have the KB971033 file on my PC but, for some reason march 1st my PC started saying my build 7600 is not genuine so wtf is wrong lol

The curtain has been raised (slightly) on the next installment of Microsoft’s Windows operating system – Windows 7.

Microsoft hope it will bring the internet, mobile phone and PC closer together. But reviews have so far been mixed, although reviewers have been limited to trying the (pre-beta version).

The full version is expected to be capable of working with a touchscreen screen, navigating documents and the Web similar to Apple’s iPhone. It is officially released at the end of 2009.
