on one of my ‘old’ laptops i installed the drivers but even so i wasn’t able to turn aero on, so i thought that this was the ‘problem’..

actually, it doesn’t have the graphics card driver….thats the actual cause of that “problem”. You need to install the graphics card to turn on Aero….
