This video covers two hacks to get around Windows 7 upgrade limitations. One is a hack that lets you upgrade from the Windows 7 Release Candidate (Beta version) and the other hack allows you to upgrade to a downgraded Windows Edition (ex. Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Professional).

already did that and i got windows 7 so far not inpressed its not xp and having a issue with some of my games do you have any idea why

the background he uses comes with/in Windows 7

If you have the professional version or better, you can emulate xp mode. Some games aren’t compatible with Windows Vista or 7 (they were designed exactly the same), so if you run them in Windows xp mode, they have a much better chance of working.

@ducksoup2007 You can’t upgrade from a 32-bit OS to a 64-bit OS, you’ll have to do a clean install. Just get a cheap external HD and backup important stuff on there.

To answer my own question,
Changed EditionId to HomePremium
and ProductId to “Windows Vista tm Home Premium” Notice the space between Home and Premium in productId.
This worked! and installation and activation went fine with windows 7.
