@Svyatpro While that last sentence is true since nothing beats Linux, I have to ask for your hardware configuration and if it was really XP x64 that you compared it to. “Mid-rage” could mean anything.

  2. Svyatpro Says:

@NDogg15, XP x64 isn’t terrible. it may be terrible only because of terrible hands. I’ve recently installed Win7 on mid-range computer, and tested it in a lot of benchmarks, and it was almost everywhere behind of XP!!!!!! Thats the facts! XP won’t. I’ll better move on Linux than to Se7en.

What does OS have to do with gaming performance?? it’s your hardware not the OS.
And there’s something very wrong with these tests because I have windows xp 32bit and also windows 7 32bit and ALL my games run faster on my windows XP. You either fucked up the XP settings somewhere or you did something wrong. There’s no way XP would have 30 less fps than windows 7 since OS don’t even factor that much in gaming performance.

  4. hitachi654 Says:

Ok just to let people know “Windows 7″ is faster than Xp BUT windows 7 uses more system resorces Dx 11 makes it run faster for games and xp uses less resorces but dx 9 makes game just run theres not real boost in 9

  5. NDogg15 Says:

@Svyatpro First of all, the reason XP lost is because XP x64 is a terrible, terrible OS even compared to Vista x64.
Second, move on. ATi kicks nVida’s ass in terms of performance, power consumption, and low heat production. Keeping XP is not worth using inferior over-priced graphics cards, and really I don’t understand why people like you are so adamant about keeping XP alive. It’s almost 10 years old; just let it die.

  6. ClassicDragRace Says:

Windows 7 is faster not only in games…

  7. Svyatpro Says:

Such a great performance difference caused through crapped ATi drivers, on nVidia Video card, Windows XP will win. ATi forgot about XP, but I forgot about ATi.

Thanks for putting some real numbers with the video!

@WeedlessProductions “All the games run slow in it.”? Really? DX11 is optimized for multiple cores, better AA performance, better at high res and effects (shadows, detailed textures) etc..
XP interface is crap BTW, slow and laggy. Have you ever tried to read a scratched CD/DVD in XP? The hole system freezes for minutes lol! This never happens in windows 7. In the new games you’ll get better performance in windows 7 especially on new hardware..End of story!

  17. WeedlessProductions Says:

@SuperiorBeen I don’t like the interface for windows 7. Its too bloated and not straight forward. You have to dig to get to the advanced options. Windows 7 isn’t faster though. I’ve had it on other machines before and i’ve loaded it on friends machines. It would be much better if i could change everything to look like xp but have the engine of windows 7 below the skin. Directx11 is nothing in windows 7 right now. All the games run slow in it. Will be slow for along time until windows 8.

  18. SuperiorBeen Says:

@WeedlessProductions you have crossfired 4890s and you’re still using XP? loool That’s pathetic. Better use DOS I’ve heard it use even less ram and cpu cycles..haha

    Windows 7 FTW, DirectX11 FTW

  19. WeedlessProductions Says:

Your results are way off. I don’t even get that low frames rate on xp x64. This video is biased. I have crossfired 4890s in xp x64. The games are faster in xp x64 than windows 7 as 7 eats up more cpu cycles than xp x64 during the game. Xp x64 consumes less ram than windows 7. I play all the latest games on it also. You have something not setup right or your drivers need to be setup correctly. Sorry to say but somethings definitely wrong here.

  20. Gaming4WholeLife Says:

@mnbgkjygvbu All updates is installed in Windows Xp.

  21. Gaming4WholeLife Says:

@chillypepper i dont think windows 7 is “faster” its just gives better performance in games :)

  22. mnbgkjygvbu Says:

@chillypepper70 no it is not faster, dont believe what you see in this video

  23. mnbgkjygvbu Says:

You get low fps on xp because you didnt installed the amd hotfix for multi cores processors

  24. neko9 Says:

hard to admit it, but 7 > XP. opposite of Vista.

  25. chillypepper70 Says:

So overall windows 7 is a faster os?
